MOLESWORTH INSPIRED LODGE TYPE DESK, CARVED TREE The desk features a chip carved gnarly tree in the front panel facing out to the room, and the leaves were woodburned in to give it more contrast. It has six drawers in the back, three down the left side, the pencil drawer, and two drawers down the right side, the bottom drawer being a file drawer. Tom made it look like there are three drawers on the right side. The sides of the desk are half rounds, and each side features gnarly burled wood all the way down the sides to form the feet. The carved tree picture is framed in wormy logs. Each drawer has a smaller burl for drawer pulls, with finger holes carved out for easy pulling. The drawers have metal drawer guides in each one, which locks the drawer in so it won't pull out and fall on the floor or your feet. It makes the drawers very easy to pull out. The top of the desk is covered in leather. We chose a leather color called "Spice" as this desk went in to a room full of original Thomas Molesworth furniture with old red leather on the tops. The color of this leather almost matches the existing original red leather and the new owner is very happy with this fact! Around the edges of the desk Tom put original Molesworth tacks for decoration. The desk is 60" long, 40" wide. This was a custom order, of course. It took about four months to complete as Tom does everything from "scratch" in his woodworking shop. Plus, no pattern to follow to begin with. If you wish to order a custom desk from Cowboy Classics, please feel free to e mail or phone us. The price of the desk varies on size, and customizing. This desk was $5,100, plus crating and shipping. That was another $1,000. Our client in California has the only desk like it in the whole world!
