NEW HANDCRAFTED WESTERN AND LODGE FURNITURE

Dr. Niblack Hand Carved Mule Leg Chair
(Item: -)

Unusual comes to mind, wierd, what is it? who would carve that? Why? What kind of legs are those? Are just a few of the questions asked about Dr. Niblack's furniture. And this chair is one of a kind, and his famous work. It dates from the 1950's and is wonderful!

Dr. Niblack was a chiropractor in Denver, Colorado, and decided to retire from that practice, and make western furniture. He had a vivid imagination, and the artistic and craftsmanship ability to go along with his ideas. He produced a myriad of carved, unique furniture, and much of it is gathered up and displayed in a museum dedicated to his memory, in Custer, South Dakota.

No one else has ever emulated his work, or tried to. Until Tom Bice came along!

This chair was found in an antique shop in Fort Collins, Colorado by Tom, and we could not resist purchasing it. It features mule legs in front, a carved to fit your fanny, chair seat, and a key hole type back carved with a miner (?) and his mule. It is heavy, it is comfortable, and it is unusual.

Dr. Niblack also created a style of painting his work that cannot be duplicated easily!

Dr. Niblack worked closely with Walt Disney on many projects, and some of his hand carved scenes were featured in the movies. Many of his scenes move by a series of bellows and chains. Truly wonderful!
