1850 Letter Collinsville California Early Express Bill

Authentic. Dated July 19, 1850 handwritten letter, one sheet which folds into an envelope. Early Express mail red ink stamp, "New Haven July". Letter addressed to S. W. Collins of Collinsville, California from New Haven industrialist Isaac Hotchkip . Letter refers to a $787.50 payment for "150 tons of Beaver Meadow Lump Coal delivered to the Railroad Company". Original hand written letter. Exact size: 10 by 7 3/4 inches. 1 sheet folded into 2 pages. Letter is clean but slightly age-toned. Otherwise, condition is VG-. Ex-collection Dick Bowman, Denver Westerner and Wells Fargo and Pony Express collector. Early California Express Mail. New England Coal Mining. Railroadiana. Ephemera.
