""Tell is All," The Story of a Life’s Experience in Mormonism," by Mrs. T. B. H. Stenhouse, Published by A.D. Worthington & Company, Hartford, Connecticut. Introduction by Harriet Beecher Stowe. 1875. 1st edition. Includes full-page illustration & steel-plate Portrait of the Author. 29 black and white illustrations engraved by Chas. Spiegle of New York. Original green hard-cover in good condition with gold-gilt lettering and design on front, back and spine. All corners of cover frayed. Fraying on top and bottom of spine. Occasional fraying along edges of cover. Two front end-papers have been attached together. Some aging and soiling on other front end-papers. Signature, "J. H. Bigelow, 1895," in pencil on front end-papers. Spine split but holding. Back end-papers in good condition with slight foxing, fading and soiling. Slight tearing along spine on back end-papers. Signature, "J. H. B." in pencil on back end-papers. Actual size of book: 8 3/4 by 5 1/2 inches. 623 pages. Text-block pages in good condition with occasional foxing and occasional soiling. Illustrations in good condition with some fading Spine occasionally loose but holding. Ms. Stenhouse’s book was written as an answer to the "Polygomy," question. From her experience in the Mormon Church in Utah, she draws aside the veil to expose "the worst oppression and degradation of woman ever known in a civilized country." 1st edition. Scarce. Americana.
