Condition: Origninal Green Cloth, decorative gilt cover. Dull Gilt title on spine. Shelfware and soiling to covers. Corners bumped. Head and tail of spine bumped, with 1/4, inch chipping to head and tail of spine. Front inner spine gutter starting. Pages age toned, no foxing. Gilt cover which has words "Slocum and His Men" and an elegant embossed emblemn. Shelwear and soiling to covers with an area discolored by a book or statue or desk item that had rested on the frontcover, in the sun, for some time. Exact size: 11 x 8 1/2 inches. 325 pages. Major General Henry Warner Slocum (1826-1894) commanded the Right Wing of the Army of the Potomac at the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 2 & 3, 1963. This book is a loving and living "Memorium," prepared after the unveiling and Dedication of the Slocum Monument, at Gettysburgh, on September 19, 1903. Includes 26 BW photographs and all four Battlefield Maps, of Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and Lookout Mountain, as called for. Scarce. First edition. U.S. Civil War History & Biography.
