ca. 1880 Navajo Germantown saddle blanket

Circa 1880 classic Hubbell Trading Post Germantown double saddle blanket. 35 inches wide by 58 inches long. All original, in uncleaned state complete with several old repairs, all shown in pictures. This extremely tight saddle blanket has a fabulous design complete with moki crosses and rolling log designs. Blanket is almost entirely of germantown wool except for a sm. strip running through the middle of the weaving which appears to be made of churro wool. Condition is very good with only minimal soiling and no mildew or moth damage. This is an important example of the classic germantown saddle blanket and would make a nice addition to any serious rug collection.
