This finely woven rug has a cenrtal motif design that I believe to be Teec Nos Pos influenced. It is done in a deep burgandy, black, light gray, dark gray, and natural white. It has a weft count of 30 spi, a warp count of 18 spi, and it has numerous lazy lines. All selvages are complete; There are no holes, stains, or wear areas. C.N. Cotton was Lorenzo Hubbell's partner at Ganado until 1894. He opened a wholesale house in Gallup, NM and eventually produced a catalog containing 5 rug plates. Rugs similar to the plates were available for sale. This rug is one of these rugs. The border is known for its C.N. Cotton design. Price: $2300.00
This is a JB Moore Storm rug from his catalog done with variations of valero stars and feathers in a unique design that is beautiful. It is woven in variegated beige, natural white, natural black, golden brown and red. It is very soft to the touch. There are lazy lines in it and also a spirit line. I have included pictures of two very small areas that have a break in the warp threads and a picture of the four corners. There are a couple breaks in the selvedge without any damage to the rug. If you were to do these minor repairs this rug would be perfect. It is definitely a beauty as it is. Price: $2200.00

These samplers were produced for the newly discovered tourist trade in the Southwest at the end of the 19th century. The government decided that Navajo weavers would be more efficient if they didn't have to shear their sheep, and card and wash the wool, so they shipped wool from Germantown, PA, hence the name. Weavings of this type were produced until the turn of the century. This Germantown has a whirling log centered in the middle of it surrounded by bright red. It is done in bright colors with fringe on both ends. Very unique design. Measurements ~ 20" x 21" Price: $800.00

Very fine weaving done in all natural colors of gray, off white, and black with brown inserts. This was sold to me as a wearing blanket but I feel it is a fine weaved rug. A very tight weave with lots of color variation. The design holds a lot of the navajo symbols. The condition is near perfect and shows it has been stored in a chest for many, many years. . This rug is a balanced composition of color and design. Done in aniline dyed red and over-dyed black with the balance of the wool done in natural shades of cream and brown. This rug was purchased by Oliver Nash in Northern Arizona and was given to his wife shortly after they were married in 1922. It remained in the family until now.
