"The Landing of the Pilgrim Fathers in America"
(Item: 4/16/07 LAND ENGRAVE)
"The Landing of the Pilgrim Fathers in America-on the Fifteenth of November 1620" is a hand-colored engraving dating from the 1880's. The margins are wide showing the deep plate marks. It is engraved by W.H.Simmons and painted by Charles Lucey; both names are printed in the margins. Condition is good plus. There is one small foxing mark on the right side and a small paper abrasion in the lower center of the engraving. The exact size is 29 x 36 inches and framed 35 x 42 inches. The hand-colored engraving is a serene image of the pilgrims gathering on the new land.
