"A Pegged-Down Fishing Match"
(Item: 4/16/07 FISH ENGRAV)
This hand-colored engraving entitled "A Pegged-Down Fishing Match" is dated in 1885, found in printing in the lower center below engraving. The engraver is Goupil & Cie; the painter is W. Dendy Sadler. Sadlers signature is also engraved on the plate. The overall condition is good plus. The margins are wide and extend past the deep plate marks. There are some finger soils to the margin, light water damage (the paper remained unwarpped and unwrinkled,) and there is light foxing. The dimensions are 26 x 35 inches unframed and 32 x 42 inches framed. (The pictures included show a strong glass reflection.)
