FINE OLD IRISH CHAIN SALMON COLORED QUILT Included are an extra folky Texas CRAZY QUILT; a fabulous, mint condition 1930's large DOUBLE WEDDING RING from Kansas; a near mint IRISH CHAIN in salmon colors; an OCEAN WAVES (or FLYING GEESE VARIATION); an extra bright TRIP AROUND THE WORLD; and a never used 1930's LINEN FOUR POSTER BED SPREAD. THIS AUCTION: Believe this is a DOUBLE IRISH CHAIN
or some variation thereof. Will gladly add to the listing if someone
knows any other name. This quilt was made by the same woman who made
the wonderful Double Wedding Ring we are also offering today.
Both were made just after the Depression in a modest North Central Kansas
farm house. The Lady was a master seamstress and one who paid great
attention to intricate detail. Each square is 1 3/4 inches.
The non salmon squares are made of a print with tiny blue flowers with
a lighter Salmon color intertwining. The stitching is also a pinkish
or salmon color which creates a wonderful contrast on the white and on
the back. As the Double Wedding Ring, this one was also long stored
in a Cedar chest and it holds the cedar fragrance. Can find no problems.
It is both soft and puffy. 72 inches by 65 inches.
Will pack properly and ship promptly
to highest bidder.
