OUTSTANDING LIDDED BAKELITE BOX WITH PENGUIN!

with a Penguin atop!
Box is 3 1/4 inches tall and the Penguin is 2 1/2 inches, for an overall height of 5 3/4 inches. Box diameter is 3 inches.
Bakelite is not one of our specialties and following description may be amateurish. PLEASE email with specific questions. By showing interest in the piece, you probably know more about Bakelite than we do.
The box and bottom shows what is probably normal and typical wear. Mr. Penguin has numerous colors and textures. The darker front of the body appears to be paint decorated which has some crackle crazing. The lighter color of the body is more amber color and Amber texture than the box and has some crazing lines and a light surface crack. The body almost looks and feels like real Amber, but have no idea if indeed Amber was use for things like this.
The head is black and smooth with no crazing.
The bill is painted amber color.
The eyes are amber glass with a dark center.
Lid top and box bottom are black
and rest of box is typical amber colored bakelite.
Can't imagine that this guy wouldn't be a
definite highlight of a serious bakelite collection!
