ULTIMATE FLAG QUILT ~PEARL HARBOR MEMORIAL~

Used the word "MEMORIAL" in title, as the word "COMMEMORATIVE" did not fit the space allowed.  Would consider this more commemorative than memorial.  Boldly dated 1942 and the State of Nebraska the "highlighted" state in the Map, this wonderful piece of patriotic Americana was started as a reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor, by Seward, Nebraska native Elsa Barghahn and finished sometime in '42.  White Stars...89 of them... with blue background, bold Red Stripes and all 48 States named and each State Bird and each State Flower were applied with bold satin stitch embroidery.  The 48 Star American flag appears to be waving in the breeze.  It is hand quilted, the stars are hand appliquéd and the sashing is machine stitched.  This quilt is a Large 99 inches by 81 inches, it is strong and in pristine condition, with no fading or stains and is just as nice today as it was when it was finished in 1942. The quilt has never been washed and it shows absolutely no soil or dirt.

There are several pictures, so, please allow time for them to load and please ask us questions for anything we may have failed to mention.  The quilt is large enough that the overall view did not picture as well as we would have hoped.
 This is, indeed, a wonderful thing and has everything going for it.  Winning bidder will certainly be pleased to own this unique piece of American History.
