LARGE Impt Birds Eye Photo 1870s TRUCKEE, CA.
(Item: TRUCKEE BIRDSEYE PIC)

Offering today, in separate listings, a pair of  historically significant, large albumen photographs of Truckee, California in the 1870s.  Both photographs are related in that they are both, no doubt, taken by the same photographer, on probably the same day (note white laundry in the breeze in both photos).  They also both display the holdings of Mr. & Mrs. W. H. Kruger, of Truckee.
Holdings including Truckee Lumber Company and his fancy home.
THIS AUCTION:
Large, 13" x 9 1/2" 1870s albumen birds eye photograph of the original town of Truckee.  Pictured on left is rail yard...presumably the Southern Pacific R.R. and/or Virginia & Truckee R.R.  Center is the Truckee Lumber Company, owned by W. H. Kruger and E. J. Brickell and in lower right, the fancy home of W. H. Kruger.  Please see our other listings for the other image of this fine building, with people posed in front...probably taken by some photographer and on the same day.  Also note the lack of trees and other buildings in the image.  Barn at far right is under construction, with a man leaning into the side.
Cardboard is rough cut and has some warp.  Stains across the top of image and some fading of the hill on top right.  The buildings are clear and have nice depth and contrast.  The overall size of the cardboard is 15" x 12".
Could use a cleaning.
A wonderful historic document, circa 1873,
of this 5 year old California mountain town.
From the same estate, will also offer soon other 1870s photographs of Truckee and some super  1908 Pillsbury panoramic photographs of Lake Tahoe.
Please email if you would like to notified when these are offered.
Offered with no reserve.
Excellent opportunity to own a super piece
of California homesteader and railroad history
and an important photograph of early Truckee.
Will pack properly and ship promptly.
 UPS INSURED SHIPPING $7.
