FINE LARGE NOAH'S ARK 19th C. GERMAN 19PIECES
(Item: NOAH)

We've owned a number of sets of wonderful Noah's Arc toys and this one is the BEST!  We're sizing down and selling a few things that were keepers....So. this extra nice, circa 1890s, no doubt German, nineteen piece, large scale Noahs Arc "Sunday" toy will be going to a new home.  The Arc is 18 inches long, 6 1/2 inches wide and 11 1/4 inches tall.  The lid is hinged and opens for full storage of all the animals and characters.  There are pairs of Elephants, Ostriches, Giraffes, Bears, Lions, Horses, & Camels.  There is a lone Dove and as single Pig, and, of course, Noah and Wife. For size perspective: Noah is 4 inches tall, the Giraffe is 5 1/4 tall, the Bear is 2 1/4, and the little Dove is 3/4 of an inch tall.  The detail on the animals and Noah & Wife is quite good and far better than most sets.  We've included lots of pictures, so, please allow time for them to load....they are representative of the condition, paint and quality.  There is paint missing from the roof of the Arc and there is a strip of wood lost from one half of one edge of the roof. Paint on Animals is as you see.  The little poem inside the lid reads:

God saw men's wicked ways
And nipped them in the bud.
He let it rain for forty days
And drowned then in a flood.

The bad all died, but mark!
God saved good Noah's life.
He saved his three sons and wife.

And two of every kind
of insect, beast, and bird--
As He had said.  For you will find
God always keeps his word.

So now with you and me--
Be this well understood!
If bad we too shall punished be
But helped if we are good.
