SAMLL FOLKY 1890s CRAZY QUILT ~NEW YORK
(Item: CRAZY QUILT 1)

This little 1890s New York State Crazy Quilt needs some help, but it's just folky enough to warrant the work. There are three pieces missing (see pictures) and roughly 10 more pieces with damage. The missing silk pieces need to be totally replaced and one could perhaps live with the damaged silks. 50 inches square, it is made up of 9 blocks which are 16 1.2 inches square. There are lots of traditional late Victorian graphics: flowers, grapes, owls, children, star and moon, fans, strawberries, anchor, fish a horse head, music notes, etc.; and, each little piece is stitched together with colorful x's. Small enough to display nicely on a wall or could be framed. Found in a sale years ago near Albany New York. Please be aware of the fore mentioned problems....if you are unsure of the condition please inquire. Also offering today, in another auction, 16 Crazy Quilt squares that came from the same sale and some other very nice estate quilts....check "Gallery of Our Other Auctions."
