VERY FINE 19th CENTURY BASKET QUILT

This lovely old quilt is simply beautiful and in Pristine Condition. All hand pieced and hand quilted...basket handles are appliquéd... and all are early special fabrics. Would date as Civil War period. Has been put away and saved for "special"; don't believe it has ever been washed. It is one of the finest quilts we have offered for sale. Quilting is fan pattern and there are 5 stitches to the inch. It has a unique border treatment, two sides are two inch triangles, one side has no border and the fourth side has a stripy piece of various widths. Quilt is stronger and better than pictures lend. 83 inches by 70 inches and backed with white cotton and is bound from front to back.
