RED WING STONEWARE 'REFRIGERATOR JAR' BLUE & WHITE
(Item: REFRIGE JAR 1)

This is a great, Red Wing early blue and white 1 1/2 quart stoneware refrigerator jar, circa 1920's. We found this listed between $275-$325 in "Red Wing Stoneware" by Dan DePasquale, Gale Peck, and Larry Peterson 2004 page 132. the lid sits in a recessed rim. A wire bail handle with a black wooden turned dowel is attached to the pottery loops on the side of the crock. Imprinted in dark gray is the inscription 'REFRIGERATOR JAR.' The original blue and white paint is in Excellent condition; there are two chips on inside rim, as pictured. The lid has a few tiny dings on top, one chip on the underside and two hairline cracks as pictured, though overall it is sturdy. Also, the knob on the lid has a firing flaw under the glaze. The crock measures 5 3/4 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches in diameter from loop to loop. Please take a look at our other early stoneware crocks for sale today in separate auctions!
