FOLKY ANTIQUE WOOD & CANVAS CANADIAN GOOSE DECOY

This is one Great and Folky decoy Goose! It is made of a wooden frame, inside of a painted cloth body, stuffed with a straw like material. From what we can tell, the inner frame has a solid block of wood on the bottom, up to the tail, and a frame along the top "backbone" and front chest of the goose. The doweled head fits loosely into a hole in the body and can swivel 360 degrees. We presume that the decoy was made this way for easy transport, and so that the head could be placed in any desired position. The head and neck are made of two pieces glued / doweled together. The canvas is tightly tacked to the frame and expertly hand painted to create a genuinely realistic goose. The material is very strong and has a thick coat of paint on it. Because of this, there are no tears in the canvas. As the durability and craftsmanship show, who ever made this goose had plenty of practice. The condition is Very Good with some minor wear throughout, consistent with its older age. The head has lost a little paint around the edges, but is still in Great shape. The goose measures 20 inches from chest to tail, and 16 inches to the top of the head.
