1/8 PINT MINIATURE RED WING JUG 'EXCELSIOR SPRINGS'

Kickin' around an old box of stuff today and inside was this neat miniature RED WING "SOUVENIR EXCELSIOR SPRINGS MISSOURI" 1/8 PINT Advertising JUG. Don't know where we came up with or how long we've had it, but our research tells us they are pretty hard to come by. This is the smallest of several sizes the Excelsior Springs Mineral Water Company gave away as promotion or sold as a sample of their water. Tiny jug is marked on the bottom, as pictured: "M.S. CO." and was made in the first decade of the 1900s, so, it's now become 100 years old! It's just 2 5/8 inches tall, has a small rough spot on the bottom edge which is difficult to say whether is a firing factory flaw or a small edge chip; there are no other chips or cracks in the jug. the stenciled advertising is slightly off center and the letter "V" in "SOUVENIR" is not completely clear. Glad to pass this little gem onto the right Red Wing Collector.
