'OLD MASTER' TOWLE STERLING 85 PC FLATWARE SET ~ESTATE

From a local estate, this is an elegant
set of Sterling Towle flatware in the 'OLD MASTER PATTERN,' 1942. All
of the pieces are marked 'TOWLE STERLING R.' Some of the
have the 'PAT' and some have the 'lion' Hallmark. The knives are marked
with the 'T' and 'STERLING HANDLE.' Used only for special occasions,
the entire 85 piece set is in Very Good, lightly Condition, while some
of the pieces have no evidence of use. This set is 4 cream soup spoons
short of service for twelve. Below is a breakdown of each type of
piece, the number and condition. The set includes a number of
miscellaneous serving pieces and a dovetailed, 'silver cloth'
lined box in very good condition.
12 Dinner Forks: Lightly used Condition, some small cut marks on the backs of some of the tines; otherwise the tines are all straight and aligned. Each for measures 7 1/8 inches long.
12 Salad Forks: Slightly used condition with only very minor scratching. All tines are straight and aligned. Each fork measures 6 3/8 inches long.
21 teaspoons: Slightly used condition with some minor scratching on the backs of the bowls. All teaspoons are in original form. Each spoon measures 5 7/8 inches long.
8 Cream Soup Spoons: Slightly used condition with slight scratching on the backs of some of the bowls. All of the soup spoons are in original form. Each soup spoon measures 6 1/4 inches long.
12 Knives: Excellent, Hardly used condition. The blades are straight and clean, and the handles are in Excellent condition with only very minor scratching. Each knife measures 9 inches long.
12 butter Spreaders: Hardly used condition. The blades are all straight and have only very minor scratching and tarnish. Each spreader measures 5 3/4 inches long.
2 Table Spoons: Excellent, Hardly used condition. The bowls are perfect and there is little to no scratching. Each spoon measures 6 1/2 inches long.
3 Large Serving Spoons: Very Good, Lightly Used Condition. The spoons and bowls are in original form with only minor scratching on the backs of the bows. Each spoon measures 8 1/2 inches long.
1 Small ladle: Very Good, Slightly Used Condition with only very minor scratching. Otherwise the bowl and handle are in original form. The ladle measures 5 1/2 inches long.
1 Master Butter Knife: Very Good Lightly Used Condition with some light scratching on the blade. Otherwise the knife is in original form. Knife measures 6 3/4 inches long.
1 Long Teaspoon or serving spoon?: Very Good, Slightly used Condition. The bowl has a slight rim around it that typical spoons do not have, so we are unsure what to call this one. There is very light scratching on the bowl, otherwise it is in original form. Spoon measures 6 inches long.
