This Auction:
This quilt is early, has always been a doll quilt, is not a cut down and is so beautiful, it is worthy of framing, blocking or hanging to maintain its shape. It dates to the 1880s and the colors are muted and soft. A number of small embroidered circles decorate each piece and the back is quilted along the lines of each piece.
Made of velvet with a cotton backing, some of the velvet is worn, as pictured. Otherwise there is one very small rust colored spot on the back, otherwise it is a clean and odor free quilt. There are a few small holes in the backing that can be seen in the pictures below. The quilt measures 20 1/2 inches square.
