FINE OLD LARGE PIMA BASKET ~14" DIA. X 4" TALL

This is one of three Native American Baskets we are selling this week, all from a local estate in Colorado. They were owned by the grandmother for many years before they were handed down to her grand daughter. We have no other specific history on the baskets, other than they were very well cared for over the years and are of obvious inventment quality.

~ THIS AUCTION: LARGE ROUND PIMA BASKET 14 INCH DIAMETER ~

Judging from similar forms we have found we believe this is a Pima bowl. The origin of this Pima basket is unknown to us, as is the exact age, though we presume it to be from the first half of the 20th Century and probably from the first quarter. It has an amazingly tight and small weave of light brown and dark brown colors with a very elaborate pattern and a nice rich patina. This basket is in Fantastic Condition! The pictures were taken outside in the sunshine...

CONDITION:
The outside is slightly lighter than the inside side. Otherwise there are no breaks, holes and the overall condition is Excellent! It measures 14 inches in diameter and as much as 4 inches deep.
