SPECIAL EARLY OVAL PIMA BASKET
(Item: PIMA BASKET 2)

This is one of three Native American Baskets we are selling this week, all from a local estate in Colorado. They were owned by the grandmother for many years before they were handed down to her grand daughter. We have no other specific history on the baskets, other than they were very well cared for over the years and are of obvious investment quality.

~ THIS AUCTION: EARLY OVAL PIMA BOWL/BASKET ~

Judging from similar forms we have found we believe this is a Pima bowl. The origin of this early Pima basket is unknown to us, as is the exact age, though we are guessing it to be from the first quarter of the 20th Century or earlier. It has an amazingly tight and small weave of golden brown and dark brown colors in an eye dazzling zig zag or maze/labyrinth type pattern, with an extra nice rich patina. The pictures were taken outside in the sunshine...

CONDITION:

The inside color is slightly lighter than the back side; otherwise there are no breaks, holes and the overall condition is Very Good. It measures 12 1/2 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches deep.

Any questions or comments, please contact us and we will reply in a prompt manner and we will gladly add any valued/expert opinions as to age and origin to the bottom of the listing.
