EARLY CARVED DECORATED POWDER HORN ~COWBOY & INDIAN

What a neat old Powder Horn with great
old patina! Found in a local estate, judging from the patina of
the horn and the good leather cover, there is no doubt that this horn
is not a newer reproduction. The carving is not deep, but it is
indeed quite folky and also, no doubt, not carved recently.
Pictured are an Indian with bow and arrow and headdress, a Cowboy with
hat, boots, belt and a kerchief. Also there is a shape of a house
between the two characters and a sliver of a Moon with a face, in the
sky above. Leather cover has a metal ring with the remains of a string
attached. The diameter of the large end is two inches and the
overall length is about 6 1/2 inches.
