Ewe Cloth The strip-woven cloth called kente, made by the Asante peoples of Ghana and the Ewe peoples of Ghana and Togo, is the best know of all African textiles. Traditionally worn by as a kind of Toga and by women as an upper and lower wrapper. Used as "Royal Regalia" in the past. The Asante are the most populous and best know of the Akan (Twi-speaking) peoples of Ghana. Kente cloth and other modes of visual expression are employed to dress the Gods. THE GODS WEAR KENTE! From: Wrapped in Pride, Ghanaian Kente and African American Identity by Doran H. Ross. Cloth Size: 10' 8" X 7'. I believe this is woven by the EWE.
