Painter of Taos scenes and of California's High Sierras, born in Kansas City, Kansas in 1927 and living in Fresno, California since 1951. She says that "we tend to think that Russell and Remington captured it all a long time ago, but they didn't. There's the 'today' New Mexico to do and the 'today" cowboy and Indian." As a native Kansan, she is enthused that "like Dorothy in the 'Wizard of Oz', " she has come home again to exhibit in a Kansas gallery, "after traveling in the land of Oz, our Southwest."

Her family moved to Los Angeles during the Depression. She studied at the Best Art Foundation School and graduated from Frank Wiggins' School of Art in 1947, with additional fine art courses at California State University and Fresno City College. While she was employed as a commercial artist in Los Angeles, she married and then moved to Fresno where she became an art director. In 1972, she visited New Mexico to see her son who was working as a cowboy and she found what she calls "truly an enchantment in the Southwest. The Indians are independent and cherish their traditions, while the Westerners show a love of the outdoors in their ranch life."

In Taos, she also discovered Whitaker Galleries to represent her and to sell 250 of her paintings over the years. After a study trip to Europe during which paintings were sold in Germany, she returned more Americanized, in the sense that "we have a great country and a great history also." She has since established a studio in New Mexico's Sangre de Cristo Mountains to supplement her studio at the base of California's Sierra Nevadas. Her galleries are Whitaker and In the Spirit.
