Egyptian-Canadian (1921-2001), El Mahdy, who was born in CAIRO, EGYPT and Studied, under Ricardo Roberti at the Italian Academy of Fine Arts in Cairo 1935-39. After at the Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in 1940 to 1946. His works has been influenced by VUILLARD, BONNARD and SOUTINE.

He came to Montreal in 1966, where He was represented and Exhibited at the Prestigious Dominion Gallery. The owner Dr. Max Stern found His Paintings of outstanding Quality and His Style unique to Canada in the late 60's. He gave Him His first one-man show in Canada, and offered Him an opportunity to Study in France for one Year!. He returned to Montreal after, and continued with His Painting.

The Provenance of this Painting is from the Estate of the Prestigious DOMINION GALLERY, MONTREAL. He is Represented in so many National, Corporate and Private Collections, they are too numerous to mention here.
