Brass conductors lantern with nickel shoulder skirt. Single wire guard bell bottom frame with whale oil burner. Comes with clear wheel cut globe with ornate wreath design around the name of "C. A. Marvin" who was a former agent for Merchants Union Express Company. This lantern company was in business from 1870 to 1875 when it was absorbed into the Buffalo Steam Gauge Company. A beautiful & exquisite example of early American craftsmanship.
