LOT 58 GREAT NORTHERN STAGES BADGE

GREAT NORTHERN STAGES – enameled cap badge with goat logo in center of nickel shield. Most original enamel is gone. Single screw post attachment on reverse. Cap badges were originally red, white & blue however most badges suffered a lot of abuse as the drivers had to reach under the trailer to release the 5th wheel latch. The hat would constantly come in contact with the edge of the trailer causing the damage to the badges. The Great Northern Stages was started in 1935 and had truck routes in Montana that traveled mostly over mountain highways. They also had routes in Minnesota. This rare offering includes the drivers safety award cards and 11 safety award pins ranging from 8 years to 21 years of safe driving, all safety pins in excellent condition. Consignor also sent along photocopies of history of the service. A scarce offering sure to please the GN fan.MINIMUM BID $400
