LOT 453 ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING
(Item: CAT67/LOT453)
CALIFORNIA DEPOT - Original oil painting on canvas of a steam train at a California Railroad Depot. This wonderful piece measures 30” x 40”. Painted by Luis McManus who worked for many years with the motion picture and television industries as a film editor, writer, art director and designer. He worked for the Walt Disney Studios during the filming of Fantasia & Bambi. An accomplished writer and illustrater of childrens books, he also designed an Emmy Award that was given to Jacqueline Kennedy for her February 1962 television tour of the White House after the historic renovation of the mansion. The statuette of a winged woman holding an atom became the symbol of the TV Academy’s goal of supporting the art & science of television. Painting does come with a copy of the letter thanking Mr. McManus for his design from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as well as a notarized statement verifying authenticity. A wonderful piece of original art with a railroad theme. MINIMUM BID $250
