Grasshopper clock There were several design changes and plate shapes the I went through before I found the style I was looking for and in the end 6 years had gone by I did't work on it all the time....I can't even say that I worked on it part time. It just sat in a box waiting for insiration. The movement is a 10 day fusse with maintaining power and wind indication. The compound pendulum beats seconds and has a swing of less than 1/4 inch. The case I made with vigor. The wood working went real smooth... tho the wood (Bobinga and Brazilian Rosewood) cost a fortune... $600 !!!! There is no hinge for the door. I did not want an ugly pair of hinges hanging out the side of the clock... So I desined the right pillar to be attached to the glass and pull out the side of the clock to wind and set the time.
