Hans Hofmann Painting

This work offers a compelling example of Hofmann's signature style of dribbling ink,a technique that influenced Jackson Pollock.(More photos availible) Archer Paper. This artist is considered the father of American abstract art. Compositions, landscapes, still lifes, abstracts, and sculptor. Born in Germany. Very influential art teacher. Founded "Hofmann Art School"in Munich and New York, and taught in California ,Rhode Island ,and eleswhere. Friend of Delaunay, Picasso, and Braque. Also associated with Bauhaus. Very well listed in all the major Art references. Provenace: this piece came to us through Sothebys who listed it as having come from the private collection of James Svanda, Camarillo, Ca.
