Actual Japanese Woodblock Date Taisho or early-Showa Era (ca1910 to early 1930's). Provenance Found in a tiny Kyoto antique store (October 2003). Series A variety of "Scenes of Kyoto." Publisher Unknown--however, likely of Kyoto area. Seal, Carver/Printer Unknown artisan. Image Size Large Block size: Approx 10 3/4 x 12 (x 3/4 thick). Impression Very Fine. Block's front "black key-block" face showing. Also carved on BACKside (back being a differently-carved "color" block). Condition Very Good to Excellent. (Normal printing wear, but in remarkably fine condition.) Reference/Illus na Comments Full-sized "chuban" woodblock (old remnants of "hanshita" still attached to upper area). Quite an unusual find. An early, hand-carved cherrywood woodblock--Taisho or early Showa period carving. Seldom available.
