A Watercolor entitled, " The Water's Edge". It is signed and dated by the artist, "Laurence Hollings, '36". A piece of board taped to the back reads, " The Waters Edge 1936 LH". Hollings was an Extremely Talented and Versatile Artist. He is listed in Davenport's Fine Art Guide, as a Painter, Sculptor, Designer,Commercial Artist, and Pupil of Maynard Dixon. He started his career as an Illustrator for Walt Disney in the early 1930's. This Watercolor was recently purchased from his estate. In 1936, Hollings lived in the Palm Springs-Palm Desert area of Southern California.According to his son, this watercolor was painted during his time spent there.Inside dimensions: 8" x 11" . Outside dimensions: 18" x 14". It is signed in the lower right, and dated in the lower left-see photos.The Watercolor has glass over it, some of the photos show glare from this. No damage, rips, or fading.
