The card included with this teapot says,"A fine Antique oriental armorial Lowestoft Tea Pot and cover- Date-circa 1770- Decorated with gilt monogram P.S. in a draped shield, enclosed in underglaze blue borders of spear-head design - The monogram P.S. is that of Philip Stoneham Commander of the "Reverse Resolution" _ ".The letterhead is that of Dorothy G. Hale and Company, Chicago, London.
