1883 J&E Stevens Indian-White Bear Bank Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!
This J&E Stevens Indian shooting bear mechanical bank features a rare white bear. This was a very special toy for a little boy for a birthday or Christmas perhaps! This bank has the patent date "Feb. 9th, 1875" on the coin trap, and "Pat. Pend'g" on the bottom of the base (see picture). Through our resources we find it was patented on Jan. 7th, 1883. This bank is in excellent working condition with no repairs. On a scale of 1 to 10, we rate the paint a 7.5 to 8, but you be the judge by the pictures! The Indians face does show more paint loss than the other parts. The bear is painted white, not a re-paint, but original to the bank. The feathers on the indian's back are replacement in the mid 1990's, possibly John Wright (see pictures). The bank dimensions are 7 5/8" tall (the bear being the tallest part), base is 3" wide (at the widest point), and 10 5/8" long (again, at the widest point, to the back of the Indians foot). This is a very fine quality J&E Stevens bank, and a hard to find one....so happy hunting!!!Please be patient for eight larger pictures to download, while the penny drops!$1,850.00
