1820s Mahogany 4 Poster Canopy Bed
(Item: 2522)

1820's Mahogany Four Poster Canopy Bed

This truly beautiful solid mahogany 3/4 canopy bed is in excellent condition. The four posts each weigh 60 pounds, and are turned and reeded. The post on the right side of the foot of the bed has one very old age crack at the bottom which is best left original and untouched (see picture). It does not detract from the beauty of the bed, and cannot be easily seen. The side rails are also solid mahogany and are 1 3/4" thick and 7" wide. The head of the bed features a broken pediment with a flame finial. The mattress and box springs are 3/4 size and are in used but good condition. All bedclothes, pillows, and tasseled canopy are included. The ruffled comforter and pillow shams are ivory eyelet of excellent quality and are all clean and without stains. There are six pillows for the bed- two standard, two large square, and two very large bolsters. The tasseled canopy is in excellent condition also, and is ivory, with small tassels on all four sides, and netted over the top . On the outward facing sides of the posts are paneled covers for the large screws that hold the side rails to the posts. The outside dimensions of this fabulous bed are: 55" wide, 82 1/4" long, and 90" tall. This bed would look at home in almost any setting, and is fit for a princess!
