Victorian 5 Bottle Quadruple Plate Castor Set

Very beautiful and hard to find these days are castor sets in excellent condition such as this one. The frame is marked only "Quadruple Plate", no manufacturer. The overall pattern is of curling foliage. The center handle is arched with some flowers and foliage. It has been professionally polished and has a few tiny spots around the holes where the bottles fit that are worn. There is one spot on the underside of the carousel where the plating is worn and has a slight dip in the curvature, this is not seen when right side up and does not detract from its beauty. All five of the castor bottles are in perfect condition and are in a matching swirl pattern. There is a mold mark on the side of each, but they also have pontils on the bottoms. One of the stoppers looks like it may be a replacement, but it is so close a match to the other one, it is hard to see. One stopper has a tiny chip at the point and slight chipping to the base. There is no mustard spoon, which is usual, they always seemed to be misplaced. This wonderful castor set would be the perfect centerpiece for your formal table!
