Victorian Cranberry Daisy & Fern Opalescent Brides Basket

This is a very dainty and decorative brides basket in original and excellent condition. We're sure this one was for a summer bride, based upon the daisy & fern pattern, but for a collector of Victorian cranberry glass, any season is a great one! The ruffled basket insert graduates from white opalescent to a cranberry cased edge. We have inspected the glass and can find no imperfections, flea bites, chips or cracks. The quadruple plate footed frame is by the Brittania Metal Co., and is stamped on the underside at the center (see picture). The frame is in original excellent condition, with a spot that is loose on the right side of the filigree at the top of the handle (very hard to see in picture). This can be easily fixed, and could be replated, but is fine as is. We believe the basket insert to be original to the frame. It does fit very well. The dimensions of the glass basket insert are; 3 ½" tall, and 8 1/4" wide. The frame is 12" tall, and 10 3/8" wide. A wonderful addition to the collection of a Victorian cranberry glass admirer!

The top of the handle has a loose spot on the right side of the filigree, which can easily be repaired.
