Humpback Salesmans Sample Doll Trunk
This quaint little doll trunk came to us with very old doll clothing and a very small ancient quilt. However, it is possible that it was originally a salesmans sample. We do not know this for a fact, and the trunk is great either way! The dimensions are 14" long, 9" wide, 11 1/2" tall. It has the original tray inside, and all compartments are intact. The outside of the trunk has some covering missing on the ends (see picture), as it was in an attic in Massachusetts for many years. The brass lock is stamped "Pat'd. 1851, 67 & 68" (see picture). There is no key with it. This is a wonderful display piece for a doll collector. We will even include the tiny quilt and bloomers, so that the three old friends may stay together!
