Early Stoneware Advertising Foot Warmer and Hot Water Bottle

A unique and fun item from the Midwest, where winter nights were frigid! This foot warmer/hot water bottle is a Sands Company trademark bottle made for Sharp & Smith, Chicago. The shape resembles a rounded triangle, made to sit at the foot of a bed without rolling around. It is flat on one end, with a knob, or handle at the other end. The cap is stoneware, with the company logo stamped on top and original rubber seal. There is one chip at the bottom of the stopper, which has threading to screw on, and one flat chip (½" by 1/4") on one edge of the cap. It is stamped under the glaze in black with the company logo and title of the item. There is slight crazing and some surface imperfections due to age, and one spot on the handle end that has a crack in the glaze which has become dirt encrusted over time. Dimensions are: 7 3/4" tall, 12 7/8" long, and 6 1/4' wide. A special addition to your stoneware collection!
