Victorian Pidgeon Blood Hanging Lamp
(Item: 3083)

Sorry, This item Is SOLD!!!

Victorian Hanging Parlor Lamp w/Rare Pidgeon Blood 14" Hobnail Shade

This is a very showy and exquisite Victorian parlor lamp, with a very unusual and hard to find 14" pidgeon blood hobnail shade. The brass frame is very ornate, with flowers and ivy scrolling on the outside of the arms, and a figured brass font. It comes with the original smoke bell and crown. The winder appears to be missing some inner parts. The shade ring has four applied lion heads with mouth rings where the chains attach. One of the lions is missing a mouth ring. The frame has been hand polished and clear coated to prevent it from tarnishing. The lamp has been electrified by the previous owner. With minor soldering on the inside of the fount, and a flame spreader, it can be returned to kerosene. It has 42 crystal prisms, and the chimney is thick old glass, with a smooth top & bottom rim. The 14" pidgeon blood hobnail shade is in near mint condition, with no chips or cracks, only a few very tiny edge bubbles from the factory. The shades top and bottom rims are smooth, fired twice. The manufacturing patent dates are May 18, 1886, which appears on the winder ceiling cap, and August 3, 1897, which appears on the wick adjuster (see pictures). The dimensions of the frame are: 35 ½" long and 18" wide at the widest point. This beautiful Victorian lamp will certainly lend your parlor a "rosy" glow!
