1920's Whiting & Davis Dresden Mesh Soft Pastel Floral Purse with Mirror

This is a very soft feminine Whiting & Davis Dresden mesh (or micro mesh) purse produced widely in the 1920's. Most of the mesh and enamel purses of this era were used to hold only the most basic essentials, with not much room for more! This sweet purse is done in a very soft floral pattern in shades of pink, lavender and blue with some soft green and grey mixed in. The purse is in near mint condition, with no dropped links around the frame or damaged mesh. The original gold silk lining has a tiny lipstick mark and a couple of water spots from use. It is simply stitched all around the frame. The frame is floral patterned plated brass with matching original chain. The purse is stamped with the Whiting & Davis logo on each side of the frame. The bottom edge is zig-zag designed micro mesh. The matching round brushed brass mirror has a beveled edge with two pin-sized age marks. Dimensions of the purse are: 6" long from the clasp to the lower edge, and 3 3/4" wide. The mirror is 1 3/4" in diameter. This would make a stunning addition to your vintage purse collection, or a great evening bag!
