1920's Whiting & Davis Dresden Mesh Rainbow Pattern Purse

This is an extremely attractive purse manufactured by Whiting & Davis in the 1920's. It is Dresden mesh (also called micro mesh), with a primary color rainbow pattern of blue, red, and yellow, with some soft green and a touch of brown. The frame is brass plated and the chain is brass. The clasp is cathedral shaped. The original lining is gold silk and is somewhat wrinkled; the edge has come unstitched from the frame at the sides. There are no dropped links around the frame or in the mesh. There is a tiny Whiting & Davis drop tag on the inside of the frame under the clasp. The purse flares out at the bottom with a mesh ruffle. Dimensions of this purse are: 6" from clasp to end of ruffle, and 5 ½" wide at the base of the purse. This beautiful vintage purse is sure to brighten up any purse collection!
