1870's Apple Green Moser Style Banquet Lamp
(Item: JOGR01JC)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

1870's Apple Green Moser Style Banquet Lamp with Green Marble, Stern &Base

The only word for this lamp is elegant! This handsome banquet lamp was pure based in France. It has an apple green art glass fount hand enameled with tiny flowers and scrolling vines with leaves. The enamel is a little worn from age and use, but still in good shape. The quality of the enameling and brass etching lead us to feel it is a Moser piece. The brass burner is in excellent condition, with a wick still in place. The wick raiser is embossed "H.S." The stern of the lamp resembles a pillar, with very intricate designs embellishing the brass collars on top and bottom. The stern and base are pale green marble. The marble base has a few tiny edge nicks from age. There is a deep brown "U" shaped vein in the marble near the top of the stem, it is not a crack. It is stamped on the bottom "841 AD." The feet are brass ogee style. The chimney is a recent replacement and does not fit inside the burner collar. A better one could be found. There was most likely a globe shaped shade over the chimney at one time, but not present now. Dimensions of the banquet lamp are; 19" tall to the top of the burner, and the fount is 7 ½" in diameter. The marble base is 4 3/4" square without the feet. This is an exquisite banquet lamp of a quality we don't often see today. It would be a fabulous lamp for a discriminating collector such as yourself!
