1900 Lions Head, Push Button-Reclining Oak Morris Chair Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!Circa:1900, Lions Head, Push Button-Reclining Oak Morris Chair As you know by now, our goal is to offer the most unique and high quality antiques to our clients that we are capable of. This beautiful "Morris" chair is no exception! It has style as well as being functional. It is solid quarter sawn golden oak, with roaring lion heads at the front of the arm rests, five toe claw feet, and the more sought- after push button feature to recline the chair. The push button mechanism is located on the right side of the chair, and has the last patent date, "May 1, 1900" stamped on the mechanism arm under the chair. There are seven turned spindles and one dowel rod under each arm rest. There is a small amount of applied carving on the front of the chair seat. The chair is currently upholstered in a forest green maidenhair fern pattern fabric, with a burgundy background. It is in excellent condition, and would not need re-upholstering for a few years yet. We feel the chair was professionally refinished 15 or so years ago. Dimensions of this very unique reclining "Morris" chair are; 40 1/8" tall, 27 ½"wide, and the seating area is 33" deep. This chair would be perfect to relax in with your favorite book, or T.V. remote! Please be patient for ten larger pictures to download! $1,495.00
