1920's Brass Hanging Lamp w/Milk Glass Shades Sorry, Thsi Item Is SOLD!!!Circa 1920's Brass Hanging Ceiling Fixture with Milk Glass Shades
This very attractive light fixture was, until recently, a part of the "George Bailey House" in Iowa. "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart was based on the life of George Bailey. The hanging light was de-accessioned from the estate housing many wonderful antique pieces. We were happy to acquire it and offer it for sale. The lamp body is a flat round brushed brass piece with a nickel plate ring around it. The four arms are brass over copper in an acanthus leaf pattern; the bottom finial is an acanthus leaf circle with a nickel plate tassel hanging from it. The ceiling cap and center support are also brass over copper with the same acanthus pattern. The overall finish is excellent for its age, with some wear to the brass finish on the arms and light surface spotting on the underside of the center piece. The lamp has recently been re-wired for safety. The four milk glass hanging shades are in great condition, with very minor edge roughness as is normal; one shade has a tiny edge chip (very minor). Dimensions of the hanging fixture are: 27" long and 20 1/2" wide from shade to shade. Each shade is 5" long and 5" in diameter. This would be an excellent dining room fixture for 1920's or 1930's decor in your home!
