1915 Basalt Wedgwood Covered Pin Box

This nice little covered pin or dresser box is basalt (black) jasperware with the mark, "Wedgwood, Made in England," placing the production of this piece to after 1905. The dish is round in a scalloped shape, with eight lobes. Each section has cherubs playing. The lid is a classical scene, with two ladies, a youth, and a bird in a cage. The outside edge is decorated with oak leaf and acorn clusters. The box is in perfect condition - no chips, cracks or flea bites (flat chips), and no wear to the figures. Dimensions of the box are: 5" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall with the lid. A perfect gift for your sweetheart, even if she doesn't collect Wedgwood!
