1890's Double Pressed Back Solid Oak Rocking Chair
(Item: 4131J)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

1890's Double Pressed Back Solid Oak Rocking Chair

A very solid and attractive rocking chair in room-ready condition. The finish is close to original, with just a light coat of varnish to seal the old finish. It has a double pressed back in a scroll-and-basket weave pattern with rabbit ears. It has wide rolled arms, two front turned stretchers and plain side stretchers. There are seven turned back spindles and three turned spindles under each arm. There is one 1 ½" age split just above one flat head screw where the arm attaches to the chair. It is hardly noticeable but must be mentioned. The chair has a new brown leather seat. The rocking chair dimensions are: 39" tall to the top of the rabbit ears, and the seat is 20 ½" wide and 18 3/8" deep. This is a beautiful rocking chair, perfect for that corner by the fireplace!
