1830's American Empire "Classical" 8 ft. Rosewood Table 1830's American Empire (Classical) 8' ft. Rosewood Table This is a spectacular table in fully restored and room-ready condition. A table this early and elaborately carved is rarely seen any more. The table top is solid rosewood, with beautiful grain, the double pedestal columns are rosewood veneer, and the very ornately carved rosewood four toe claw feet have acanthus leaf and nut cluster carvings....just beautiful! The table apron is rosewood burl veneer, with solid carved corners. All eight feet have the original brass casters. When connected together, the table is 8' feet long, and 4' feet wide. The two halves are connected together by brass "table forks" that slide into brass pressure spring loaded slides. When the two halves separate, each half makes a 48" square table. The rosewood table top rotates 90 degrees, and the 24" leaf drops down in the back of each half to form two gorgeous console tables. This 175 year old table has been professionally restored and refinished, and is ready to grace your formal dining room for every type of entertainment you can dream up! The last picture of the table is with eight 1940's period Queen Anne style mahogany dining chairs with cabriole legs, pad feet, and new cream brocade upholstery, Item No #3818, which can be purchased separately for $975.00 for the set of 8, or with the table as a set for $5,373.00....a 10% savings!
